First Visit

"After 30+ years of cottaging, our Muskoka place became our year round home. As we started to become involved in the local activities, some folks at a Friday morning breakfast group told us about Port Carling United Church and invited us to check it out. They were particularly enthusiastic about their minister, "Rev. Sue". On our first visit, we were warmly greeted, we found the service very meaningful and were introduced to many people during the coffee hour. Over the next several weeks we saw innovative Sunday Services that spoke to all age groups, especially the young people. We were also impressed with the large number of members who were involved in some way, either during the services or behind the scenes. We have transferred our membership to Port Carling, we have made many new friends, and are particularly enjoying being back in a Choir. "

"When we were church shopping approximately a year ago, we attended Bala United Church for the first time. We were greeted by many members of the congregation who demonstrated genuine interest in us. The message Rev. Sue delivered was meaningful, and we liked the music in the service. We had the impression the members were like a family and felt we had a lot in common with them. They were active and involved in service in the community. We now attend on a regular basis and give our time and talents whenever we can."
